These are only a few important points from my Holiday checklist to secure your home when on vacation. *If you have anything delivered to the house ensure you put a hold on it until you return. *Ensure that your alarm company has up-to-date key holder details. ( Trusted neighbor or family member that checks on your home regularly) Has the alarm been serviced? *Turn off the gas and water supply especially if away for a longer period of time. Check your washing machine hoses if it hasn’t been replaced in a long time you might want to replace them… *Have you indoor and outdoor lighting on time switches. Operation Identification: Engrave your Valuables Operation Identification allows individuals to engrave uniquely identifiable numbers into their expensive items. In the case an item gets stolen and is recovered, the engravings allow officers to return the items to their owners. Kelowna RCMP has loaned three engravers to our neighbourhood for the months of October and November should anyone wish to engrave their valuables. The engravers and instructions will be kept with myself for signing out. Please PM me and we can arrange for you to borrow one.
